Christian Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu · North Fort Myers, FL

Built to protect.

Komainu are the guardians posted at the gate — always in pairs, watching over everyone inside. That is the standard we train to: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, real self-defense, and serious fitness for kids and adults, in a family built on faith.

The name is the job

Guardians at the gate

Komainu stand in pairs at the entrance of temples — stone lion-dogs that guard the space and everyone within it. One holds its mouth open: “A,” the first sound, the first breath. One holds it closed: “Un,” the last. Beginning and completion, side by side.

Every student walks through our door as one and trains toward the other. You arrive curious. You stay to become capable — of protecting yourself, your family, and the people placed in your care.

One of the best ways to protect your family is to be fit, capable, and confident.

A — the open mouth

The first breath

Day one. White belts, first classes, new starts. Everyone on our mats began exactly here.

Un — the closed mouth

The quiet confidence

Composure under pressure. The calm of someone who has done the work and can stand guard for others.

Week at a glance

Six days. One family.
